Project Contract Manager based in Salzgitter, Germany
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Contract Summary and ensure it is widely communicated and regularly updated
- Carefully analyze the contract to build and drive implementation of a Contract/Claim Management Strategy Plan
- Monitor project execution versus contractual obligations, including monitoring of project scheduled towards achieving contractual milestones
- Work closely with the members of the project core team to identify and mitigate risks as well as to identify, maximize and leverage claim opportunities
- Monitor customer/partner requests for variations/change orders/extensions of time, including updates to the variation order/variation request/delay registers as well as the preparation of commercial offer and associated contractual letters
- Ensure timely issuance of contractual notices to customers/partners
- Establish and implement project specific commercial procedures, particularly regarding correspondences, notifications, insurance, variation requests/orders and claim preparation files
Key Requirements:
- University degree in Business or Engineering, or a combination of these
- Additional basic legal knowledge (contract law, commercial law) is well regarded
- Typically minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in relevant role (Contract Management, Project Management, Bids, Project Engineering) and be able to demonstrate the achieved results
- Proven track record in a complex business environment, ideally in similar business areas (e.g. railways, construction, machinery and plant engineering, oil & gas, energy)
- A strong commercial accumen and a capability to develop commercial strategies regarding contractual risks and opportunities
- Goal-orientation and drive for results
- Ability to present contractual issues (incl. technical background and commercial impact) in an understandable format, using basic tools such as Power Point, Excel and Word
- Ability to convince others and strong negotiation skills
- English and German business fluent are mandatory for this role; additional languages are a plus
- Willingness to travel up to 20% per year in Germany and Europe
